This Privacy Policy explains how Quiz of the Day (“we”, “us”) handles information when you visit https://quizoftheday.uk (the “Site”) and use our quiz of the day.

1. Summary

  • We save a few preferences in your browser’s local storage (keys: dq1 (your scores, streak and settings on this device)). You can delete them at any time by clearing site data.
  • We use cookies only for basic functions and, with your consent where required, for analytics and advertising. See our Cookie Policy.
  • We do not sell your personal information.

How the tool handles your data

The quiz

The quiz runs in your browser. Your answers, scores and streak are stored only in your browser (localStorage) on this device and are never sent to us. Clearing your browser data removes them.

Sharing

When you submit today’s quiz, your score (0 to 10) is added to an anonymous daily count used for the “How do you compare?” chart. We store only the number of plays for each score. To count each visitor once a day, we keep a one-way hashed code derived from your IP address for 24 hours; we never store your IP address itself.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us. If you contact us, we receive your name, email address and message, and use them only to reply.

Technical data. Our hosting provider and analytics tools may collect technical data such as IP address (often anonymized), browser, device type, referring page and pages visited, to keep the Site secure and understand usage.

3. How we use information

  • To show advertising, if enabled, in line with your consent choices

4. Legal bases (EEA/UK)

Consent (non-essential cookies, analytics, advertising), legitimate interests (security, basic statistics) and legal obligation where applicable.

Contact messages are kept only as long as needed to answer you. Analytics data is kept for 14 months or less.

The Site is not directed at children under 13 (16 in some countries), and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
