Daily Quiz Tips: How to Score Higher

A daily quiz is a small habit that builds your general knowledge over time. These tips help you score better and keep your streak alive.

1. Read the whole question

Many wrong answers come from skimming. Look out for words like “not”, “first”, “largest” and “in the UK”.

2. Eliminate the obvious wrong answers

With four options, ruling out even one wrong answer lifts your chance from 25% to 33%. Ruling out two gives you a coin toss.

3. Learn from the explanation

When you press Submit on our quiz of the day, every question you got wrong shows the correct answer and a short explanation. That’s where the learning happens: you’re far more likely to remember a fact you just got wrong.

4. Play at the same time every day

Attach the quiz to an existing habit, like your morning coffee or the commute. A new quiz arrives at midnight UK time.

5. Don’t break the streak

Missed a day? You can still play it in the archive for practice, though your streak counts only quizzes played on the day.

6. Practise your weak categories

If history always trips you up, play a few rounds of the history quiz. The all quizzes page lists every category.

7. Play with others

Play the same day’s quiz as friends or family and compare scores, or check the How do you compare? chart in your results. A bit of friendly rivalry is the best motivation.
